Some tidbits on me

Defendo a alfabetização e a numeracia. Estou muita mais preocupada com a alfabetização, mas todos deveriam saber aritmética básica.

English translation: I advocate for literacy and numeracy. I am far more concerned with literacy but everyone should know basic arithmetic.

Estou ofendida com a queima de livros.

English translation: I am offended by book burning.

The Berenstain Bears: God Made The Seasons by Stan and Jan Berenstain with Mike Berenstain

I appreciate that the Berenstains have acquired a clear stance on Christianity. It's not far-fetched that the Berenstains endorse Christianity because the stories have always been wholesome. I pray that the grandchildren and further descendants of Stan and Jan Berenstain continue the family legacy.

Long live the Berenstains!!!

Black Girl in Paris: a novel by Shay Youngblood

original comments from February 2004: Vividly written, Black Girl in Paris freshly tells the literary growth of Eden. She is enriched by her experiences as a struggling writer in the chic French capital. She encounters various types of relationships, interracial, sapphic, and a May-December. Thought-provoking and sensual.

current recollection: I first became aware of this novel from reading Essence. There is a classy eroticism to this novel. Subtlety and clarity meld in this novel. J'adore.

The Justus Girls: a novel by Evelyn Lambright

I read this novel in January 2004. I decline to post my initial review because it was actually a book summary. That's unjust to Miss Lambright. No foolishness or fakery in this story. Four friends who lived in the trenches and hugged each other through the war. It speaks volumes about what the publishing industry holds valuable because I have not seen another work by Miss Lambright. Oops!!! I stand corrected. I almost confirmed my ignorance!!! Thank goodness, I just went on the MSN search engine and learned that Miss Lambright has published another novel. Why just two? I pray Miss Lambright didn't get discouraged. No, I don't believe that.

Brilliance often accompanies realness. A lot of people can't handle that.
