Oppression wounds the entire population. It proves short-sighted to alienate people. When will people in power see that we have a world of untapped geniuses? Hope has not been extinguished. It relieved me to read of Goretti Nyabenda of Burundi. She had suffered under submission to an abusive, alcoholic husband which magnified their poverty. Frustrated with their circumstances, Goretti advocated for herself and lifted her family. Her husband began to respect her. Everything improves when a woman respects herself.
