Cook Korean! A Comic Book with Recipes by Robin Ha

I saw two recipes in this book that I would eagerly cook: Chile Chicken Stew and Brown Sugar Pancakes. One of my aunties would love these recipes. The problem rests in the fact that she has been occupying herself away from books. I mention books to my Auntie but I keep hoping she'll return to the love.

Thank you, Robin Ha and her mother, for writing this book.

The Soul of a Woman by Isabel Allende

Initially, I was repelled from this book because the subtitle includes "good witches". I resisted and then I decided to be brave. A good witch will not cause harm. So delighted that I read this jewel!!! I read it in a matter of hours. I want women to ascend into places of power so that we cease from suffering. Nor do I want men to suffer as we have.

A world with love, joy, and peace that we share with each other!!!

A Cry from the Streets: Rescuing Brazil's Forgotten Children by Jeannette Lukasse

Volunteering with this organization sounds life-changing. I know it would deepen my gratitude. It would reframe my perspective on life. Plus, I would get to see if I could live in Brazil. I know I am not a missionary but reading this book gives me fuel to directly assist with this organization. The time will come.

In the Company of Women: Inspiration and Advice from over 100 Makers, Artists, and Entrepreneurs by Grace Bonney

This tome doesn't exhaust the reader. I took a break from it because I enmeshed with other books. Of course, we create but we must possess business acumen so we thrive and survive. We need multitudes of women to ascend into the arts.

Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide by Nicholas D. Kristoff and Sheryl DuWunn

Oppression wounds the entire population. It proves short-sighted to alienate people. When will people in power see that we have a world of untapped geniuses? Hope has not been extinguished. It relieved me to read of Goretti Nyabenda of Burundi. She had suffered under submission to an abusive, alcoholic husband which magnified their poverty. Frustrated with their circumstances, Goretti advocated for herself and lifted her family. Her husband began to respect her. Everything improves when a woman respects herself.
